Baltimore County

Baltimore County’s unique geographic configuration, which wraps around three sides of Baltimore City, gives the county 3 distinct sections, each with unique character:

  • North: To the north of the city is the vast area of Northern Baltimore County, stretching from the busy county seat of Towson all the way to the northernmost communities that meet the Pennsylvania state line. The area grows more rural as one travels north with beautiful farmland and horse pastures.

Popular community choices include: Butler, Cockeysville, Hereford, Lutherville-Timonium, Monkton, Parkton, Parkville, Sparks Glencoe, Towson, and White Hall.

  • West: Sandwiched between Baltimore City and Howard County, Western Baltimore County has a much more urban feel with busy towns and communities surrounding the Baltimore Beltway.

Popular community choices include: Arbutus-Halethorpe, Catonsville, Garrison, Granite, Lochearn/Woodlawn, Milford Mill/Windsor Mill, Owings Mills, Pikesville, Randallstown, and Reisterstown.

  • East: Eastern Baltimore County combines industry with urban neighborhoods and affordable waterfront communities along the banks of creeks and rivers leading to the Chesapeake Bay.

Popular community choices include: Bowley’s Quarters, Chase, Dundalk, Essex, Middle River, Nottingham, Overlea, Perry Hall, Rosedale, and Whitemarsh.
